We are delighted to welcome Justice Maxwell AC, President of the Court of Appeal (Victoria), to UNSW Law.  

Justice Maxwell will be presenting a seminar on ‘Sentencing and Public Law Principles, on 19 September 1-2pm, co-hosted by the Centre & Crime, Law and Justice and the Gilbert & Tobin Centre for Public Law.  For further details please contact: cclj@unsw.edu.au

Justice Maxwell has generously agreed to participate in a number of activities with academic staff and research students form Law and Forensic Psychology during his visit.  He e was instrumental in the drafting of a new practice note for Victoria on expert evidence and he has recently published several opinion pieces raising concerns about flaws in forensic science and how that evidence is presented in courts.
